Our Other Animals

A farm with a lot of love to give

Golden Tamworth Pigs

Our Golden Tamworth pigs are raised with the same care and respect as our sheep – well-fed, free to roam, and full of personality. Known for their golden coats and gentle natures, these pigs are part of our commitment to supporting rare and heritage breeds in Australia. We’re proud to play a small part in keeping their lineage alive and thriving.

Black Suffolk Sheep

Our Black Suffolk sheep were among the first to join our flock and continue to hold a special place on the farm. They’re hardy, loyal, and fantastic mothers and these are traits that have helped us refine our breeding program and strengthen our understanding of flock management. Their presence reminds us that great farming begins with good foundations.

English Leicester Sheep

The English Leicester is a striking and historic breed, admired for its long, lustrous locks and proud stance. Their distinctive fleece catches the light beautifully and remains prized among handspinners and fibre artists. We breed our Leicesters for both temperament and quality, ensuring each animal reflects the elegance and resilience this heritage breed is known for.

Shropshire Sheep

Gentle, well-mannered, and intelligent, Shropshire sheep are a joy to work with. Their deep, soft fleece and calm disposition make them ideal for both small breeders and lifestyle farmers who value a dependable and charming breed. As one of Britain’s oldest pedigrees, they’re a wonderful example of how heritage genetics and hands-on care can create something truly enduring.

Ducks & Chickens

From colourful ducks to beautifully bred chickens, our poultry collection reflects Karen’s lifelong love of birds. Every breed is chosen for its quality, personality, and contribution to preserving genetic diversity. Many of our chooks and ducks have even won hearts (and ribbons) across the region.

One farm, many stories

Every animal here plays a role in shaping Tirano Rare Breeds Farm into the peaceful, purpose-driven place it is today. Whether it oinks, quacks, or bleats, it’s loved and cared for as part of our extended family.
